Nissan: Nissan Sports Car sales to top 20% for the first time in 12 months – ESPN Crikey
Nissan’s sports car sales surged to 20.1 million units in the three months ending March 1, with the Japanese automaker posting a profit of $5.5 billion.
Nissan’s net profit was up by 14.3 per cent year-on-year to $8.1 billion.
Sales rose by 2.7 per cent to 1.85 million vehicles.
Sales rose 2.2 per cent in the Americas and by 2 per cent internationally to 5.3 million.
Sales increased by 2,000 to 1,955,000 cars, and by 7,000 units to 1 million vehicles in the North American market.
In Asia, sales grew by 8.4 per cent and by 3 per cent globally.
The growth was fueled by a 2.6 per cent gain in North America, followed by a 6.6 cent gain for Europe and a 7.2 cent gain across Asia Pacific.
The Nissan Qashqai is Nissan’s first sports car to sell in more than a decade, and the car was launched in 2021.
Nissan will also unveil a sports car for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and its next model, the Qashqa, will be unveiled at the end of 2020.
The new Qashqi is expected to be launched in 2022.
