NFL Players: ‘We Can’t Let the Fans Down’
Just two months ago, the NFL was celebrating its 100th game.
This year, the league announced it would have 100 games in 2020.
The schedule is a bit daunting.
What happens when the teams meet in the playoffs?
And how many games will be played in December?
The NFL Players Association, the union that represents the league’s players, announced Thursday that they’re raising the stakes even higher: they’re asking fans to donate more than $100,000 to the organization to make the game a success.
In a press release, the association announced that “we’re going to try and make it a lot easier for the NFL to host more games and make sure we can take care of the players and the fans.”
So how does the league plan to reach its goal?
“We’re going with the money,” said NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith.
“It’s the right thing to do.”
The union is asking fans who want to give $100 or more to support the league to send the league a tweet and make a donation.
You can do so by tweeting at @NFLPA or by clicking here.
The league will then donate $50 of each donation to the league.
The players are also encouraging fans to take the pledge to donate a minimum of $100.
“I want to be as transparent as possible and say to you that if you are interested in helping us, I want to do it right away,” Smith said.
“If we can’t do it in the next couple of weeks, we’re going down the road of trying to get a lot of the money raised.
We’re going right now with a pledge of $50 to help us make this happen.”
The league is also asking fans not to donate to other organizations.
“We’ve got to make sure that it’s not just one organization, and that’s why we’re asking for the fans to give us $100,” Smith told reporters.
“The people that we’re getting to donate the money to are really the ones that are going to benefit from it.
And if they don’t like that, they can say that they don’s donate to us, and we’ll refund their money.
It’s not going to be easy, and it’s going to require a lot more money. “
In addition to that, we need to make this thing a little bit more accessible for everyone.

What are some of the big things the players are asking fans? “
This is not something that we just need to get out and do, but we need the fans’ help, too.”
What are some of the big things the players are asking fans?
The league announced Thursday it will give away $100 worth of tickets to all home games this season.
That means if you’re an average fan and you donate $100 to the NFLPA, you will be able to get 10 free tickets to a home game this season and get one free ticket to a road game next season.
Fans can donate up to $500 per season.
“There are a lot people out there that are really invested in this game,” Smith added.
“
But there’s so many people out here that have never given to a league that has not been a fan, and they’re still in their 20s and 30s and they don?t have a lot to lose.”
